The Illinois Respite Coalition (IRC) has been supporting families and providers since 1998. We provide respite information and referral across the lifespan statewide. We have an in-home respite grant and when funded, a statewide Emergency Respite Care Grant. The in-home respite grant through DHS provides eligible families who have a loved one diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities a break utilizing a trained worker. This break gives the caregivers a chance to care for themselves. We serve 16 counties: Bond, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Crawford, Cumberland, Dewitt, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Macon, Marion, Mason, Moultrie, Richland, Washington.
