DHS-Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is the state agency that provides job training, job placement & post employment support services to job seekers who, due to their disability, may have difficulty with applying, preparing, interviewing, finding & maintaining successful employment. Individuals eligible for VR services are provided vocational assessment, evaluation, career guidance, training, & job placement by certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors. The DRS-VR Counselor’s primary role is to identify and address those employment barriers preventing our customers from being successfully employed, and then provide the necessary services that will lead to a successful employment outcome or job retention. Specialized VR services are also provided for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired. Transition Services are also provided for H.S. students with IEP, or 504 Medical Accommodations. These services are designed to assist students as they transition from school to work or to post-secondary training programs.
